Le Maxime***: formerly a salthouse…

The Best Western Signature Collection Hotel Le Maxime is on the banks of the River Yonne, Quai dela Marine (formerly Quai Bourbon), which runs from the Tournelle bridge to Rue Lebeuf.

The buildings along the quay were built during the Imperial regime of Napoleon Bonaparte, during the First Empire (1804-1814).

This large two story building served for a long time as a salthouse for the Franche-Comté salt works, before being bought by Maxime Fortuné, from whom it takes its name.

Today this charming 3-star hotel in Auxerre is happy to welcome you for a pleasant stay in Burgundy.
