Guided day trips
The summer season is the perfect time to discover the town of Auxerre in a way you wouldn't at any other time of the year.
The town's tourist office offers a wide range of cycle tours of Auxerre and the surrounding area.
You'll have the chance to explore medieval villages, the Serein Valley, the Chablis vineyards, the Burgundy canal... What could be better than visiting a region under the sun?
Guided tour of the cathedral and its crypt
This summer, Auxerre Tourist Office is also offering the general public the chance to visit one of the town's most emblematic monuments: the Gothic cathedral and its crypt.
Follow your guide for almost an hour to learn all about this architectural gem. Marvel at the sculptures inside, after discovering the area where the cathedral is located.
You will then enter the Romanesque crypt. This contains a unique treasure, but we won't tell you the secret.
Boat cruise on the Yonne
Put time on hold and hop aboard a cruise boat for a unique ride.
On the Yonne and/or the Canal du Nivernais, the landscapes pass by at a leisurely pace, leaving you time to enjoy every moment of the magic.
Nature lovers will feel totally in touch with nature through the bucolic panoramas. Learn about the history of the region from the guide's anecdotes.
Catalpa Festival
Music lovers will be delighted to take part in the Catalpa Festival from 23 to 25 June 2023.
Located in the Parc de l'Arbre Sec, the festival village welcomes you free of charge from 6pm on Friday and from 4pm on Saturday and Sunday for a night of fireworks. The main stage is the ideal place to listen to regional and international artists.
The 2023 programme promises to be as eclectic as it is electric, with the likes of Clinton Fearon, Romane Santarelli and rising rap star Lujipeka. It's time to get away from it all!
